Artisan Contracting served as the general contractor for the build-out of The Sweet Life of Tou & Mai, a boba tea café and Asian mini mart located in Midtown Detroit and connected to the Sy Thai restaurant. This project transformed an existing commercial space into a unique destination that combines specialty beverages with a curated selection of Asian snacks, drinks, and pantry items.

The project included a complete interior tenant build-out featuring a custom boba tea service bar, commercial beverage equipment, retail shelving and display systems, refrigeration, millwork, flooring, tile, lighting, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) coordination. Construction focused on creating a seamless balance between café operations and retail shopping while maintaining efficient workflows for both.

Working closely with the ownership team, designers, and specialty vendors, Artisan Contracting delivered a bright, modern space designed to support high-volume beverage service and an engaging retail experience. Every detail was carefully coordinated to maximize functionality, product visibility, and customer flow.

Today, The Sweet Life of Tou & Mai serves as a vibrant extension of the Sy Thai brand, offering guests a unique blend of café and specialty market experiences. This project showcases Artisan Contracting's expertise in café construction, beverage-focused build-outs, retail tenant improvements, specialty market construction, and hospitality renovations throughout Metro Detroit.
