Artisan Contracting served as the general contractor for the build-out of Northend Taproom, a neighborhood taproom and hospitality venue located in Detroit. This project transformed an existing commercial space into a welcoming, community-focused destination centered around craft beer service, elevated bar offerings, and a comfortable social atmosphere.

The scope of work included a full interior tenant build-out featuring custom bar construction, tap system installation, back-of-house support areas, millwork, flooring, tile, architectural lighting, and coordinated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. The design emphasized durability and warmth, balancing industrial materials with inviting finishes to create a space that feels both modern and approachable.

A key component of the project was the integration of a high-functioning draft beer system, requiring precise coordination for refrigeration, line routing, and bar equipment placement to support efficient service and product quality. Additional attention was given to lighting layers, acoustic comfort, and seating layout to ensure a flexible environment suitable for both daily neighborhood use and high-volume hospitality service.

Artisan Contracting worked closely with the ownership group, design team, and specialty trades to deliver a space that reflects the identity of a true neighborhood taproom. Every detail was carefully considered to support operational flow behind the bar while maintaining a comfortable and engaging guest experience in the front of house.

The completed Northend Taproom now serves as a vibrant gathering place within Detroit’s hospitality landscape, offering a curated selection of craft beer, thoughtful bar programming, and a relaxed interior environment designed for community connection.
